The Big News: Please Pray For Us

May 6th, 2008 by Brent

I was talking with a friend last week who said that they knew something was going on because I didn’t post twice last week! Well, there are some big changes happening and I want to ask you to pray with us through them.

This past Sunday I let our church family know that over the past few months, God has been leading us to plant a church in the Northwest Valley of the Phoenix area. That is where I’m from and it will be nice to be near family again. We know the area, we know the people and we know the need. We are very sad to leave Grace Community Church and the church family that has meant so much to us over these past years but we would not be doing this if we weren’t convinced that this was God’s plan for us.

Please pray for me, my family and Grace Community Church, that this will be smooth, God-honoring and edifying transition for everyone. Today I am in Austin with Acts 29 at their South-Central Regional conference trying to discern the Lord’s will as to whether or not that’s the avenue that He would have us travel. Please pray for wisdom and discernment as how to best pursue the many challenges that lie ahead.

    Brent,

Many blessings to you and this great opportunity, my brother. We just made a major move in the last year, so I know some of the ways to pray specifically for you guys.

Just don’t forget about your blog-readers when you get to Arizona. We need posts!:-)

Jaime and I will be praying for you guys in this time of transition. I admire your courage and commitment to follow the Lord where he leads.

  3. Chris

God bless you. Phoenix needs the Gospel.

  4. Stan

I will certainly be praying for you … being one of those living up here in the northwest valley of the Phoenix area.

    Hmm.

I’m not so sure about this. If Brent leaves the DFW area … then I’m afraid … that the terrorists have already won.

Really, who’s gonna fight them with me? Will you still do the Weekly Town Crier?

    What about ME, by golly?!

Okay … in an effort to think about the use of Brent to the “kingdom” and all that … I will pray for your transition and guidance and all that … but I’m not happy about it.

    Love ya, brother.

Phoenix has lots of lost people, but praise God, it also has Zia.

I guess we’ll have to make a trip to Arizona! We will certainly miss you guys! We need to make plans to visit Glen Rose soon and visit before you leave!
We will pray for you and the new work in Phoenix!
Ok…maybe that was too many exclamation points!!!

    I agree with Gunny’s comment. :P

Seriously, you can believe I will be praying for y’alls transition. I’m grateful for the time that we had you here with us.

  9. Brent

Don’t tell me you’re worried about the terrorists too!

I have a problem with this newsflash cause the day before yesterday I prayed and God showed me a vision of you riding a three story habanero pepper crossing the Mississippi River preaching in the streets with me in New Orleans right after the Satchmo Summer Festival so I know that it is the devil leading you to Phoenix. Therefore, repent and prepare to eat crawfish and grits for breakfast from now on ;)

    Crawfish for breakfast?

  12. Eddie Exposito

Of course… it’s the breakfast of champions :)

I’m curious.. how many hits does your blog get because of the excessive use of the word “terrorists.”

I wonder if C316 is on some kind of watch list.. “We need to keep an eye on this guy.. he and his friends are definitely up to something.” ;)

    Brother,
I never thought this day would come, I thought we had lost you and Kristi forever. It would be an incredible blessing to have you guys back in the valley. We will be praying hard for you. Hope to see you soon. Please keep Lessie and I in the loop, so we can be ready to help you in any way we can. Priase God from whom all blessings flow.

    Love you Brother,

    Jerome
